Daneswood's Responsible Individual is Dr Peter Gardner, a Chartered Forensic Psychologist, Chartered Educational Psychologist, Chartered Counselling Psychologist, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Full Practitioner Member of the British Psychological Society Division of Neuropsychology, who has many years of experience of working with people with learning disabilities. Previously a university lecturer and consultant to schools for children with special educational needs, he co-founded Appleford School for children with dyslexia and associated learning difficulties, which is rated by Ofstead as Outstanding for both education and care. He maintains a successful practice in personal injury work.
The staff team at Daneswood is led by the Registered Manager Jerry Brown who has over 20 years experience of working in and managing residential care homes for people with people with learning disabilities and those with complex needs. Jerry is a Qualified Social Worker, holding the Diploma in Social Work; he is registered with the General Social Care Council, and holds an NVQ 4 in Management and a range of other qualifications.
Daneswood also employs senior support workers and support workers, administrative and domestic staff.
Training and support for staff is provided in accordance with the latest regulations and the requirements of the Care Quality Commision and in accordance with the individual needs and interests of the service user group.
